Father John O'Gorman succeeded the late Father Thornton as Parish
Priest of St. Joseph's in January 1971, and served until his retirement on 26
September 2003.
The parishioners of St. Joseph's are extremely grateful for Father
O'Gorman's Ministry of over 32 years, and on 21 November 2003 arranged for a
celebration of this Ministry. The evening started with Holy Mass concelebrated
by Father O'Gorman, his brother William, and Fathers Shaun O'Neill, Lawrence
Jones, Martin Tobin and Tom McCormack. After Mass, the congregation and Priests
were first treated to a buffet supper in the Thornton Hall, before presentations
were made to Father O'Gorman in the School Hall.
